| Every year millions of teenage girls become pregnant. Many will
opt for an abortion. Others will have a child years before they
are ready for motherhood. Some will put their child up for
adoption shortly after birth. In addition, each year millions of
teenagers will contract a venereal disease. All of these
consequences disrupt young lives and create a burden on society.
Most sex education programs are intended to reduce the incidence of
these consequences. |
